In celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary, the “Twilight” saga based off of the books by Stephenie Meyer will return to cinemas across the nation in a one-week structured event by Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment. This event will run from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 with one film being shown each night.

Consisting of five movies, the series charts the relationship between Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, a teenager who moves to the town of Forks, Washington from Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, the 104-year-old vampire she falls in love with.

“Twilight,” the first movie in the series will be shown on Oct. 29. This film was originally released in 2008 three years after the book was released in 2005. It follows Bella first moving to Forks and meeting Edward, discovering he is a vampire shortly after.

Its sequel “New Moon” will be shown the next day, Oct. 30.. It was released in 2009 and follows Bella’s friendship with Taylor Lautner playing Jacob Black who she discovers has unwillingly been turned into a werewolf. It was this film that sparked the popular “Team Edward/Team Jacob” dispute that was popular amongst the series’ fanbase.

“Eclipse,” the third movie originally released in 2010 will be shown on the night of Halloween. In the movie Bella develops awareness of the possible complications of marrying a vampire, after being given a deal by Edward that he will marry her if he is allowed to turn her into a vampire.

“Breaking Dawn,” the final main book in the series was split into two movies with the first part being released in 2011 and the second in 2012.

On Nov. 1, “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” will be shown. In the film, Bella and Edward get married and Bella becomes pregnant. They both must deal with the struggles she faces through pregnancy including almost dying due to the child being half-human and half-vampire.

Finally on Nov. 2, “Breaking Dawn: Part 2” will be shown. Bella and Edward, the former who is now a vampire, align with Jacob and the rest of the werewolves as well as Edward’s family to face a clan of vampires who view Bella and Edward’s child as a threat.

All five movies will be shown at most cinemas across Rhode Island including CinemaWorld in Lincoln and Showcase Cinemas at the Providence Place Mall. Tickets can be purchased on their websites.
