Student Community Government Treasurer Miguel Hoyos stopped by the Adams Library TV Studio on Monday, April 20 to discuss the Rhode Island College Class of 2026’s upcoming ‘Senior Week,’ a week dedicated for graduating seniors that is filled with exciting events as RIC’s upcoming graduates prepare to walk the stage at the Amica Mutual Pavilion Saturday, May 16.
Students are highly advised to RSVP their spot on these events through RIConnect. Payments for trips can be done through the following:
CashApp: $OrliJuarez04
Venmo: @ric_classof2026
Students without the previously available payment methods can email ojuarez_2918@email.ric.edu to plan an alternate method of payment.

Seniors are also advised to join the class RIConnect to ensure they get priority for these events.
The festivities have already begun as the senior class kicked things off with “Red Sox Day,” where RIC students got the chance to see the Boston Red Sox play the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, May 19. The Red Sox lost 6-2 against the Tigers, but the $10 bargain which included a meal/merch voucher set the precedent for the exciting events that are coming up next.
On Reading Day (Tuesday, May 5), the senior class is prepping students for exams with the always-popular ‘Treat Yo Self’ event, where students can pick up sweet and savory snacks provided by the Donovan Dining Center. Available for all students as well that day is a gift card raffle for those who swing by the senior class’s tables at the dining center. The free snacks are available from 12-2 pm.
Zooming to Sunday, May 10, the official start of ‘Senior Week’ will be a thrilling trip to Lake Compounce in Bristol and Southington, Connecticut. The $15 dollar ticket provides seniors with transportation to the lake, entry to the amusement park section (water park closed) and a meal/drink voucher. The bus, which is required to be ridden by all students attending, leaves the campus at 9 am and will return to Providence at 6 pm.

Undergraduate and graduate seniors both have the opportunity to personalize their caps with the Senior Cap Decorating Night on Monday, May 11 in the Student Union Ballroom running from 6-8 pm. Provided for those wishing to decorate their cap will be various arts and craft supplies. Free food, music and encouraging words from the senior class officers are all added as a complementary bonus for those on campus cap decorating. It is highly recommended that those attending RSVP so the class council can prepare the necessary food and decoration orders.
BattlegroundZ in Lincoln, Rhode Island will host graduating students on Tuesday, May 12 beginning at 4 pm. The $10 buy-in provides access to BattlegroundZ’s VIP party room, food and soft drinks, a game card providing access to the arcade and as many games of airsoft, laser tag, paintball, dodgeball, archery tag and more as one desires. Transportation is not provided for the event, but the center is a brief 20 minutes away from campus.
All students, but particularly seniors, looking for a great day at the beach are welcome to meet up at Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island at 10 am on Wednesday, May 13. Paddy’s Beach Club is a recommended eatery for anyone wishing to grab a nice meal, with its four-star rating on Google proving more than enough of its reputation. Transportation to the beach will not be provided by the school.
The final trip on the schedule for Senior Week will be an all-day visit to Newport, Rhode Island on Thursday, May 14. For five dollars, students get provided with transportation to the historic city. At Newport, students are free to explore and take in the city and it’s activities. The bus will depart from RIC at 8 am and will depart from Newport at 6 pm. Students should be aware that if they miss the bus, they will not be refunded, and any change of plans in not attending should be notified to the class council by May 3 in order to receive a full refund.
Senior Brunch will be held on Friday, May 15 from 10-12:30 pm in the Donovan Dining Center to close out Senior Week. The free event includes a brunch buffet and toast, and the ability to retrieve honor cords if students are notified of receiving one. A breakfast mimosa bar will also be open for the 21+ exclusive event (state ID and RIC ID required), offering a max of two mimosas per person. RIC President Jack Warner and key student leaders will speak at the events. Photo opportunities with backgrounds and props are included. RSVP to the event is required, and once the event is packed, students will be added to a waitlist. Should students need to cancel, please email ojuarez_2918@email.ric.edu ASAP so spots can be offered to another student on the waitlist.
