Women’s golf @ Trinity/Hartford Invitational (West Hartford, CT) – 7th of seven, two-day total score 1,015 (514, 501; +439)
Third-year Mya Linchitz led the Anchorwomen in the par-72 course carding a two-day total of 224 (107, 117; +80).
Tuesday, April 21
Softball @ Eastern Connecticut State University
Game one: W, 2-1
Eastern Connecticut registered their only run in the second inning to take a 1-nothing advantage. Three scoreless innings later, the RIC offense found and claimed the win thanks to RBI doubles from fourth-year second baseman Noelle Simmons and second-year first baseman Jill Guilfoyle. First-year Mia Crudale fired seven strikeouts in her eleventh victory of the year, allowing just one Eastern run on three hits.
Game two: L, 6-4
Eastern found their footing in game two and defended home field to get away the twinbill with a split. Three runs at the bottom of the first inning established an early lead the Warriors would never relinquish. The Anchorwomen aimed to find magic again with RBI doubles from third-year right fielder Sydney Duclos and Jill Guilfoyle but were not enough in the seventh inning to push past the four-run deficit. Fourth-year pitcher Gabby Cunha took the loss.
Men’s tennis @ Bridgewater State University – L, 5-2
Head coach Adam Spring’s club were dealt their first overall and in-conference loss of the spring with an away setback at Bridgewater State. Second-year Ethan Clegg claimed a second singles win, and first-year John Vaughan putting away his fifth singles opponent in a three-set takedown. The win for the Bears secures the Little East Conference regular-season title, and Bridgewater will be the No. 1 seed.
Wednesday, April 22
Men’s tennis vs Norwich University – W, 6-1
Men’s tennis rebounded from their first conference loss with a strong win over the out-of-conference Cadets. First-year John Vaughan secured the team win at fourth singles.
Women’s lacrosse vs University of Massachusetts Dartmouth – L, 13-4
Visitor UMass Dartmouth dumped on 10 goals in the second half to ensure their first Little East Conference victory of the season. Second-year midfielder Brie Macaruso scored a goal to go along with an assist, seven ground balls and two draw controls. RIC ends the season 1-12 with an 0-8 record against LEC opponents.
Thursday, April 23
Baseball @ Curry College – W, 20-11
A 5-2 start after the first inning left the Colonels leading earlier, but were no match for the Anchormen the rest of the way as they outscored the hosts, 18-6. Fourth-year catcher Sean Gallagher led the way for RIC going 4-for-6 with a home run, two doubles and seven RBI. Third-year pitcher Stephen Sullivan claimed the win to move to 2-3 on the season.
Saturday, April 25
Track and field @ Little East Championship (Willimantic, CT)

Baseball vs Plymouth State University
Game one: W, 12-7
RIC ramped up scoring in the latter half of the opening affair with 11 runs starting from the fifth inning. Second-year left fielder George Threats' three-run shot provided a 12-4 lead Plymouth State could not recoup from. First-year Cam Laramee had four strikeouts in six innings of work to take the win and move to 2-1.
Game two: L, 10-6
Seven runs from the visitors in the eighth inning flipped the game into Plymouth State’s hands as they overcame a 5-3 deficit. Third-year pitcher Jake Foster worked 4.1 innings and took the loss.
Softball vs Keene State College
Game one: W, 6-1
A pregame ceremony was held for Rhode Island College’s four seniors to recognize their time with the Anchorwomen. All scoring was handled in the first two innings, highlighted by the hosts’ five runs in the bottom of the first to establish the game-winning advantage. Fourth-year Noelle Simmons went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, whilst classmate Gabby Cunha notched the win, allowing one unearned run on six hits.
Game two: W, 10-1 (five innings)
After a slow start, RIC slammed in nine runs in the third and fourth innings to collect an eight-plus run lead and slam the door on Saturday’s twinbill early. Fourth-year center fielder Sophia Crudale concluded her home regular season career on a three-run homer. Noelle Simmons went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a double, a triple and an RBI. First-year pitcher Mia Crudale secured the win, allowing just one unearned run on five hits.
Men’s tennis vs Salem State University – W, 6-1
Fourth-years Kyle O’Connor and Sairaj Srinivasan were each recognized on senior day and contributed to wins in the team’s fifth LEC win. Second-year Ethan Clegg’s second singles victory secured the team win as well as a bye in the LEC Championship with the securing of the second seed.
