During next Thursday, May 4, the annual art exhibition showcasing graduating students’ work opens for members of Rhode Island College’s campus community to see.

This will be the Bannister Gallery’s final art exhibition for the 2022-2023 academic year.

“Bannister Gallery is pleased to present its annual exhibition of work by graduating seniors in the Art Department,” The Bannister Gallery said in a statement about this upcoming reception. “Various studio concentrations represented include ceramics, metalsmithing, painting, printmaking, digital media, graphic design, photography and sculpture. Degrees earned through the Art Department include a B.S. in Art Education, a B.A. in Art History, a B.A. in Art Studio, and a B.F.A. in Art Studio, the latter of which requires students to develop a stylistically accomplished and conceptually focused body of work.”

The exhibition is also going to showcase work from Marisol Martinez Kritikos and Michael Mollicone, both of whom won a senior award.

After the exhibit, located in Roberts Hall, opens next week, it will be available to the public until Friday, May 19.

The initial reception will occur from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. However, hours of operation for this exhibit in the weeks to follow are Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event, and the days this exhibit is open afterward, are also free to attend. Food and beverages will be available.

More updates regarding this exhibit and future events can be found on the gallery’s social media pages, which is @BannisterGallery on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
