As we ramp up for the near and distant holidays ahead, we start to think about those who matter the most to us.

Are you looking for a considerate, hand-made gift for yourself or your Valentine’s Day sweetheart? Need a ceramic mug to go along with your chocolates and hugs for any of your loved ones? Or perhaps you’re in search of a gorgeous dish to have your very own slice of cake on? Whatever you decide to do with your Valentine’s Day time, make it extra special with a high quality piece of pottery.

Rhode Island College’s very own ceramics club, Club Mudd, is hosting their Valentine’s Pottery Sale on Wednesday. Come check out their wide variety of cups, bowls, plates, jars, vases and more. Each piece is carefully crafted by a dedicated Club Mudd RIC student.

It’s never too early to plan ahead. Just because it’s February doesn’t mean the holidays are gone for good. Beat the inevitable mid-March snowstorm, and subsequent post-November shopping chaos, by picking up some holiday gifts now. You never know, the perfect piece may only be available during this event, before it’s gone for forever.

So, what does the process look like? Club Mudd members have creative designs in mind. They then make each piece with insightful precision and a keen attention to detail. After being carefully crafted from clay, your future keepsake is fired in the art department’s very own concrete brick kiln.

Afterwards, each kiln-fired creation is delicately hand-painted in glaze, matte or gloss, to give it a unique sheen and style. Fairly priced fine art is now available on campus for this limited amount of time.

So, what are you waiting for? Each piece is unique and special, so come pick yours up while they are being sold. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make someone you love, or yourself, smile.

The Valentine’s Pottery Sale will take place in Alex and Ani Hall - Lower Lounge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Club Mudd also has an Instagram and Facebook page, where students can visit to get a sense of their creative ceramic skillset.
