“Ball in the House” is an a capella group that specializes in R&B, Pop and Soul music. The group originated from Boston, Massachusetts, where they’ve been performing and growing, following their dreams. The band have had numerous appearances opening for popular bands such as The Beach Boys and The Jonas Brothers. They have also appeared on popular TV shows such as “The TODAY Show,” “The Daily Buzz” and “America's Got Talent,” just to name a few.

“Ball in the House” is constantly on the move, and will be performing at Rhode Island College for one night only. They’ll be performing Wednesday, from 6 p.m to 7 p.m.. in the Student Union Ballroom. Don’t let the opportunity to jive pass you by. This is one of the several “RIC Featured ‘23” events happening on campus this semester, that are described as “quality entertainment with something for everyone!” by Kristen Salemi, the college’s director of student activities. Let’s give them a warm RIC welcome, and show some support by catching their show.

They have an astounding discography alongside their impressive history of openings and performances. “Ball in the House” annually has over 200 performances, and they have surely made themselves known.

Their tagline is “Music that’ll move ya,” and when they say that, they mean it. Just from listening to a few of their tracks, you will hear that their musical stylings are innovative and reverberant. It’s all too easy to find yourself grooving to their music. Their song lists include originals and cover songs spanning across numerous genres and decades. Each song includes beatboxing, harmonizing, choreography and, not to forget, their fabulous voices.

The group’s latest single, “Ordinary Day,” has been praised for its sincere message, emotional tone and the real-life applicable lyrics that speak to the devastating state of our world with gun violence, war and the pandemic. The group’s performance with this song earned them a five out of five rating with the Recorded A cappella Review Board. I hope they perform this song Wednesday, it will be amazing to experience the emotional impact in person.
