This story follows up on my initial article on Eddy Vieira and Hunger Breeds Success under a year ago, which you can find on anchorweb.org.
“I would tell that kid that I believe in you, life will get better [and] everyday when you wake up in the morning God is giving you a clear signal that your story is not over yet.”
That’s what Eddy Vieira would say to his middle school self. The Vieira of middle school who did not realize his worth has since transformed into a college student, business owner and now the proud father of a newborn baby daughter. Lea, named after his fiancée Rhiannon Crombie’s mother, has become the biggest change in Vieira’s life, and the entrance to fatherhood has only made him stronger.

“This baby girl has made me a more focused, hungrier, better person… Fatherhood has improved and brought me closer to God than ever before. Fatherhood has made me a better person, it has shown me what truly matters in the grand scheme of life and has also given me a greater purpose than ever before to be able to give her an even greater life than I’ve had.”
Even with the added task of being a father, Vieira’s been able to manage his time well, starting his days earlier in an effort to maximize his time.
“My wellness starts at 4 a.m. everyday now. Every single day if not six out of seven, I make sure to either get my runs in, walks with the family in or lifts at the gym. Being a father, I have just learned to make time and prioritize what truly matters. My personal wellness is still deeply rooted in prayer, faith, mental health, and exercising.”

On the business aspect of his life, Hunger Breeds Success has continued to push out annual apparel releases during holidays, the latest being a Breast Cancer Awareness month line.
“This release is the most sentimental thus far, as this honors [Rhiannon’s] mother whom she lost when she was five years old to breast cancer. This release means a lot to us!”
Hunger Breeds Success has also picked up its first athlete ambassador, Robbie Mason, a freshman at East Providence High School who is about to begin his high school basketball career with the Townies. “A true point guard, leader and example of HBS on and off the court… he is ten million percent the real deal.”
Finding a health plan for clients of HBS has not changed too much, Vieira told me, but he noted that through becoming a father, he has been given a greater perspective that a workout plan or a meal plan alone will not help you.
“Everyone’s lives look different and everyone’s plans will look different.”

For the future, Vieira looks to connect the company to more people and more brands. He’s already gotten to meet Victor Fontanez (@VicBlends on Instagram) and NBA trainer Chris Brickley and introduce his brand to them. He wants to submit his brand to major companies such as Fanatics, Barstool Sports and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Academically, graduate school is his next plan following his undergraduate education at RIC, looking to become a sports psychologist and aiming to further his career in motivational speaking.
Life always comes with obstacles, but the obstacles don’t matter if you push on and motivate yourself to overcome them. Eddy Vieira would not be Eddy Vieira if the challenges in his life weren’t there to face.
“In order to get to it, you gotta go through it. It’s not where you’re at, it's where you're going… do not lose sight of that.”
