It’s that time of the school year again where students finish up their final projects, get their ducks in a row if they’re graduating and prepare for final exams. Each year, Rhode Island College’s Student Activities hosts multiple events throughout the week before finals start to help students unwind and relax.

This year’s “RIC-END” events are scheduled during the week of April 24, with the lineup of events finishing by April 29.

The first of several events scheduled is the “RIC’s Got Talent Show.” This event, scheduled for Monday, April 24, will take place in the Student Union Ballroom at 6 p.m. RIC students will be showcasing their talents for the chance to win a $500 Amazon gift card. Everyone from RIC’s campus community is encouraged to attend. Audience members will vote for the winner.

After the “RIC’s Got Talent Show” is “EXTREME Drag Queen BINGO” hosted by Haley Start and LaDiva Jonz. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in Gaige Hall, room 100. Kristen Salemi, director of the student union, says students in attendance will have a chance to win “extreme prizes” such as a 10-inch iPad, Air Pods, portable speaker, gift cards and more.

Next up on the list of events is an event dedicated to celebrating seniors who are about to graduate from RIC. “Celebrate Seniors” is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26 from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Quad. This event will also feature music performances from several artists, karaoke, a graduation-theme “chalk-a-square” contest for gift cards, rock wall climbing, Del’s lemonade, ice cream and more.

After the “Celebrate Seniors” event will be a block party on Thursday, April 27, which Salemi describes as “a revived campus tradition.” There will be food, Del’s lemonade, ice cream, music and activities such as giant chess, pedestal joust, inflatable ax throw and more. This event will take place at the Quad from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Prices of the food will vary. Commuter students can eat for free, resident students will have to use only one meal swipe and non-students will have to pay $10.

During the week there is also a sale on tickets for a trip to a Red Sox game scheduled for Friday, April 28. Tickets will be on sale for $20 from April 17 to April 24. The tickets include the game, a food voucher and transportation. This is exclusive to current RIC students. A check-in at the Student Union is scheduled for 4 p.m. on April 28. Additional information can be found using this link.

Ending “RIC-END” is “An Evening of Mystery” Masquerade Ball. This event, scheduled for Saturday, April 29 at 8 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. Students interested in attending must pre-register using this link.
