Every Thursday until the end of this school year, students are invited to have lunch with a dean from noon to 1 p.m. at the Donovan Dining Center. These lunches are sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students.
This is an opportunity for students at Rhode Island College to engage with the dean from their department, as well as speak with other deans from the college’s other departments, too. Students are encouraged to voice their concerns regarding anything, from any department, to any dean, or just simply enjoy company and conversation. This is not only a chance to get to know the people in your department, but also a possibility to create connections and friendships with other students and professionals alike.
It’s one of the few opportunities aside from attending bi-weekly Student Community Government meetings for students to express their thoughts about where they attend.
RIC currently has five schools under its name: the School of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the Zvart Onanian School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work.
Should students not be able to make these lunches, they are still encouraged to reach out to their dean’s office should they have any problems or concerns. All of these deans are also available to reach via email.
If there are any questions regarding these luncheon events, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students. Darcy Dubois, the interim dean of students. Dubois can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
