It is now the end of the fall semester at RIC, and finals are just around the corner.
Tuesday, Dec. 13, is Reading Day. Typically, this is a day that students take to start studying for finals. This is also a day of high stress levels.
This Reading Day, the Office of New Student Programs is hosting a stress buster event in the Donovan Dining Center from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.
Students can help ease their end of semester stress by enjoying a 10-minute chair massage or visiting the SMASH tent where they'll have the opportunity to break a plate.
Those who participate will also have an opportunity to meet and cuddle with therapy dogs, relax with an aromatherapy bracelet and, enjoy some delicious food and hot chocolate.
There is also an opportunity to jump into the Cash Cube wind tunnel, where students will have a chance to grab as much RIC Cash as they can to enter to win prizes. Some of these prizes include a 40-inch television, Beats headphones and over $500 in gift cards.
Those who are feeling the pressure of finals, and of the holiday season, this is an event set up to alleviate their end of semester jitters.
