Rhode Island College’s own WXIN 90.7 is hosting a pumpkin pickup event this season. On Wednesday 21, from 12-2pm students can come pick up a pumpkin painting kit put together by the members of the radio station. The event is based on a first come first serve basis, and will be hosted while supplies last.

The members of WXIN 90.7 will be posted at the steps of the Ducey media center. In order to adhere to safety guidelines students are asked to remain in their vehicles for curbside delivery. Each delivery package will include a selection of paint bucket pods, a paintbrush, and a plastic pumpkin; all wrapped up in a decorative halloween bag.

Excited to spread pumpkin cheer safely, Asst. Sports editor David Blais, who also works as the Business Director for WXIN, feels that this is a great opportunity to bring a sense of community to the student body. During these uncertain times, WXIN aims to make the Halloween season aspiring to all with this small act of kindness. Blais shared, “it is about bringing people together [while] giving them hope and a sense of normalcy during these troubling times. I hope this event can help people forget about the stresses of school and life, and to remind them to have a good time."

According to Blais, WXIN also has other planned events coming up in the near future.
