Nicholas J. Lima has been on The Anchor's Editorial Board for four years, where he is presently the Managing Editor of Content. In his current position, he is an elected member of the Executive Board, acting as the organization's secretary, and directly assists and advises the Editor-in-Chief on all matters pertaining to The Anchor's style, story priority, coverage and editorial direction. He works directly with the various section editors in setting deadlines, assigning short and long-term stories and coordinating writers and photographers, and oversees the copy, graphics, photo, news, sports, arts, lifestyles, opinions, editorials, layout and production departments.

His previous duties as Copy Editor included editing every article that goes to print to conform to both AP and The Anchor's stylebooks, checking for grammar, punctuation, spelling, coherency and accuracy, and reading through the final proofs of each week's paper before it went to print, which he still does as Managing Editor of Content. Additionally, he was charged with working with staff writers and editors to improve their writing skills, story flow, context and content. He also previously served for two years as Business Manager on The Anchor's Executive Board, and as treasurer dealt with the organization's finances and student government relations, and oversaw the advertising, public relations, technology, Web, circulation, distribution and operations departments.

Nick, a communications and English double-major with a minor in political science, has been an Anchor staff member since 2005. He is a frequent news and feature writer, and occasionally contributes as The Anchor's official food critic with his trademarked Cuisine Corner, a column traditionally adorned with fedoras and mozzarella sticks.

Outside of The Anchor, Nick Lima is a commuter representative and the ranking member of Student Parliament, and has served for six years on Rhode Island College Student Community Government, Inc. Three years ago, he was Student Body President of SCG, Inc., and he has also served as Secretary, twice as Speaker and briefly as Deputy Speaker.

He is active in RIC Radio 90.7 WXIN, where he has served twice as Production Director on the station's executive board, and three times as News/Sports/Talk Radio Director. He is currently serving his second term as General Manager of WXIN. He is a two-time past president and founder of the RIC Chess Club, which he currently serves as treasurer.

Beyond RIC, Nick was the Director of Broadcast Operations for the Newport Gulls Baseball Club of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where he worked for seven summers as the team's play-by-play announcer on television, radio and the Internet. In 2009 and 2010, he was named the NECBL Eastern Division All-Star Broadcaster. He has worked as a deli clerk at Clements' Marketplace in Portsmouth, R.I. since 2004, and in the summer is a security supervisor and gate staff manager at Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Narragansett, RI. He is active in numerous local community and political organizations, to which he volunteers a great amount of time. A U.S. Army veteran, he is a Tiverton, R.I. native, and has also lived in Cranston, Newport and Providence, R.I., Ft. Knox, Ky., and Fall River, Mass. He currently resides in Bristol, RI.
